ICSS by-election brings eight new members on board

On Saturday, September 22, the results of the Innis College Student Society (ICSS) by-election were announced. After nine days of highly contested campaigning – a rare occurrence at Innis – the college’s student body went to the polls on September 20 and 21 to elect eight more members to council. With both Orientation Coordinators, Jericho Allick and Isheeta Chakrabarti, elected onto council for the school year and all six open positions filled, the ICSS now stands with 21 elected members for the 2018-2019 year. The Photo-Videographer and Marketing Director are still to be ratified, and portfolio associates are yet to be hired.

Below are statements from your new council members. Welcome to all the new elects, and congratulations on your success!

Allick and Chakrabarti were also ratified as voting members of the ICSS.  Four candidates of the nine who sought thirteen positions on the Innis College Council, the college’s mixed administration-student governing council, were also elected. A potential second by-election will be held later this fall to fulfill the remaining eight positions.
