Managing Editor

Yash Kumar Singhal

Hello again Innis. My name is Yash Kumar Singhal and I will be your Managing Editor for 2023-24! I’m in my third year at UofT, studying Biology (EEB and CMB) with a minor in math. I’ve been part of the Herald masthead since my first year and had a great time leading the paper in new directions as Editor-in-Chief for Volume 58. I’m super excited to see the Herald evolve this year and will play my part in making it scintillating, suave, slay, and slightly stupid. If you see me wandering aimlessly around Innis or the rest of campus, come say hi! I’m probably procrastinating and looking for a conversation.

Senior Copy Editor

Kiran Basra

Email: copyedit.herald@gmail.com

Hi, everyone! My name is Kiran and I’m returning as the Herald’s Senior Copy Editor. I study psychology, neuroscience, and history. I love contributing to the Herald because I enjoy the challenge of prompt-based writing (and I’m addicted to seeing my name in print). I’m looking forwards to adding Oxford commas to all your pieces this year!

Layout Editor

Jessica Chu

Email: layout.herald@gmail.com

Hi! I’m Jess, a layout editor for the Herald and I’m in the commerce program here at U of T. My love for the Herald is sparked by the creative community here (you’re all very witty!). In my spare time, I enjoy fashion design and chasing the pigeons!

Communications Director

Emma Tran

Email: website.herald@gmail.com

Hi everyone, my name is Emma and I am so excited to be the Communications Director for the Herald! I’m currently in my third year studying Health & Disease. To me, the Innis Herald is a creative outlet to take the thoughts floating around my head and put them on paper. Highly recommend sitting down to relax with a delicious drink and a copy of the latest issue! Fun fact: I love R&B/pop music – feel free to share new song recommendations. Looking forward to what V59 brings this year!

Podcast Director

Marty Hewitt

Hey Innis! My name is Marty Hewitt, and I am the Podcast Director of the Innis Herald for the 2023-24 academic year. I am a second year student pursuing a Physics Specialist and a Math Minor. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and working on my personal podcast. Make sure to check out The Waste Mons Podcast, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Creative Director

Mayumi Ramos

Email: creative.herald@gmail.com

Hi everyone! I’m Mayumi and I’m your V59 Creative Director. I’m currently in my third year, majoring in Book & Media Studies and double minoring in Writing & Rhetoric and Creative Expression & Society (yes I know that’s a mouthful). I’ve been contributing to the Herald since first year and I’m super excited to be behind-the-scenes and working with contributors this year 🙂

Graphics Editor

Lina Yan

My name is Lina and I will be your graphics editor for V59! I study sociology (major), English (minor), and Education (minor). I enjoy creating and contributing to the Herald because it’s a really great team and you get to pull fun sh*t like this 😀 A fun fact about me is that I’m guilty of using a stack of Heralds as a temporary makeshift pillow That Time I Really Needed A Nap On Campus During Finals Season™.
