    • ARE FOOD TRUCKS WORTH THE GOOD BUCKS? — around UTSG, you are bound to see a food truck operating from Sid Smith to Bahen. thoughts on the money laund- oops!… I mean the infamous pasta truck? thoughts on the immense pollution along St. George Street? thoughts on one specific food truck or every single food truck?
    • SPIRALS OF FINALS – with the academic term coming to its end, so are many students’ wills to live, but on the bright side other students are battling burnout and academically thriving — which student are you?
    • C’S GET DEGREES BUT A’S AND B’S SUCCEED… RIGHT? – calling all graduating students to share their undergraduate journey — the highs and the lows (grades and beyond) 
    • CHANGING OF SEASONS – are you looking forward to taking in-person summer courses or spending the summer in Toronto? tell us why! most people are happier when the weather’s nicer, but do you find that you also do better academically? give us a breakdown of what it’s like to study at UofT and/or live in Toronto during each term — Fall, Winter, and Summer

  • BEAUTY OF UOFT… OF LACK THEREOF – have you visited every single UofT library? have you tasted food from all the UofT cafeterias? lead a journey to examine the 130 acres of land across campus and explore every crook-and-nanny of one facility or multiple buildings 

i. consider: places as big as frats to spots small as residence rooms   

ii. inspiration: traditional facilities versus modern renovations, rating washrooms

  • campus opportunities — CCR, Work Study experience, Health & Wellness navigation, UTSU… share some supports and offer other opportunities 
  • learning abroad & exchange programs summer abroad or study, research, and professional exchanges… talk about any history of academic experience away from home

  • I INDULGE IN… – we all have guilty pleasures, what’s yours? beyond its pages, has a novel captivated your attention? behind its sitcom laugh track, has a show impacted your emotions? because of its lyrics, have songs on an album felt as if they compiled a soundtrack to your life? any recent personal experience connecting to some form of media?
  • CONVERSATIONS OF CRITICISMS AND COMPLAINTS – TV and theatre or movies and music fields constantly change and we want details about the most special happenings within the scene. whether it be about a play you watched or a problematic Netflix release, fill us in!
  • IS MARVEL EVEN MARVEL Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever… so many projects, such little time. how do you feel about the recent Marvel franchise releases — honestly?

  • THE TORONTO TEAMS – talk about Raptors’ chance of making the playoffs, Blue Jays ditching home run jacket, and Maple Leafs being, well… Toronto Maple Leafs

  • GOVERNMENTAL, POLITICAL, LAWFUL – from local council decisions to global UN bodies, politics define the state of the world. take a glimpse of those in power and the effects on people

i. consider: parties and policies 

ii. inspiration: Indigenous rights, decrease of affordability, etc. 

Science & Tech:

  • THE STARS AND MORE – is something interesting happening in the galaxy? other galaxies maybe? is there something NASA is doing that the humans on planet Earth should know? tell us all about the space mysteries and update us on the space we’ve all been curious about for years
  • IT’S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE… OR IS IT?: review the science field and take a peek at what 

cover this story to examine notable scientific updates (and show off your knowledge) 

i. consider: climate, environment, medicine, phones

ii. inspiration: global warming, discoveries, etc.

Changemakers Corner

From its founding in 1964 to its standing in 2023, Innis College is defined by its members — the powerfully influential and influentially powerful staff and students. Within Innis, countless individuals have done, are doing, or plan to do incredible work both inside and outside the college. This column strives to highlight and celebrate such. Whether they are faculty, alumni, or students, go interview a profile who you believe belongs in Innis’ “hall of fame”. End off this term by lifting up our community!

What’s Hot, What’s Not

Is it in, is it out? Is it a hit, is it a miss? The effect of cancel culture and its consequences are real and live in the flesh. These side by side lists show us a series of words about how we will look, act, and have fun tomorrow — keep up!

6ix in the 6ix

Is it pollution from TTC vehicles? Can it be the aura of maple syrup in the air of local stores? Or is it CO2 emissions from Drake’s private jet in the sky? Whatever it is, there is always something special in the Toronto air. Torontonians, native or not, should explore the very city we call home and visit your seasonal recommendations to landmarks or participate in seasonal events of attraction 

This seasonal column lists six current significant opportunities to take part in around the 6ix. Late April calls for cherry blossom season in High Park, early May is the time Canada’s Wonderland opens, while June, July, and August make for an eventful Spring/Summer.
