Michael “Fuzz” Friend is probably best known among current students as the namesake of the M. Fuzz Friend Memorial Award—but alongside being Innis’ resident maintenance man, he was also occasionally a guest columnist in Heralds past. Previous editions made sure to feature a “Fuzz Says” section, filled with precious nuggets of wisdom from the man himself.

In the April 1985 edition, The Fuzz graced us with this in his feature: “This issue of the Herald sucks.”

In addition to wearing hats as Innis’s caretaker and sage adviser, The Fuzz was also the bartender at the College bar. The bar hosted the ICSS’s Happy Hour Club, serving beer for a dollar on Friday afternoons. It has since been replaced by the Innis Cafe.
